If you are going to choose a whiskey to be your first sip ever, this is one of the top contenders. A single malt whisky or an Irish whiskey may not be to your liking. ![]() While some of them can offer stronger flavors, there are also options that are sweeter and more light bodied. Whether they have sweet light-bodied notes or are smooth and have a small taste – these are the best bottles for you to buy and try when you first get into whiskey.Īs listed, all of these different whiskey bottles are amazing for newcomers to get comfortable with. ![]() Nearly everyone who has experience with different whiskeys will be able to look at that list and agree with at least three of the options. It will obviously be a good way to consume the whiskey, but sipping whiskeys are more expensive and tend to taste nicer so it would be a waste as you would be drinking it so fast that you cannot even experience it.įor those wanting to see a list of brilliant whiskey for a newcomer to try, here is a list of all the best suggestions available to you The only way this does not work is if you try and use a sipping whiskey for shots. These whiskies will still be nice to sip but are more commonly used for downing in one go. Shot whiskey is for the more energetic drinker who is wanting to have a small amount of whiskey and drink it very quickly. It is drunk in a sort of large quantity, usually neat with no additives, and is for sipping and enjoying, as the name suggests. Sipping whiskey is what you see in the short glasses with ice in them. Whiskey comes in multiple different types that have different flavors, but other than this people tend to divide whiskey into two categories sipping whiskey and shot whiskey. Just save it for a time down the road when you are more comfortable with drinking it and are a bit more experienced. If you are wanting to buy this bottle anyways, go ahead. While it may sound like a good idea, it would be a huge waste as you will not be able to appreciate it for what it is. No one that is brand new to whiskey should be reaching for the high-end, luxurious bottles of 18-year-old Japanese whiskey.

Start off on a dry, sunny day preferably between June to September. The best time to cut and harvest the flowers of lavender is the second flowering season. Grow your newly transplanted seedlings in partial sun for one to two months. If you started in a large tray, thin your seedlings to one every 2-3 inches. One week after germination transplant your lavender seedlings into individual 4” pots filled with the sandy potting mix. Whenever the sand mixture feels dry on the surface, mist with a water bottle so as not to disturb the seeds. Leave one side open to allow some moisture to escape. Use a sheet of plastic to hold in the warmth and moisture, ensuring that the plastic never touches the soil or seedlings. Soil should remain 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and as low as 55F at night. Use a cold frame outdoors or a sunny window indoors. Place your tray or pots where they will receive 8-10 hours of sun exposure daily. Mist the sand heavily to settle it around the seeds. Lavender seeds need light to germinate, so be sure not to bury them. Sprinkle a very thin layer of sand over the lavender seeds so they are barely covered but still exposed to the light. Drop the lavender seeds into the furrows, aiming for one seed every inch. Create shallow, 1/8” deep furrows across the surface of the sand mixture.
